2000 Mönchhof Estate Riesling
Alluring aromas of iris and pear. Here is a juicy mouthful of peach, pear and sour lemon with a refreshing tingle of tangerine on the finish. Pure, focused flavors all simmering in a wash of bright limey acidity and a pinch of spicy slate.

Bright lemon, pear, and red berry lights blink in the nose. A startling zap of electric pear…a nervous, citrussy current sizzles within the complex wiring of the juicy insulation…sparks of lemon and apple cannot be contained… a tangy, snapping arc surges across the palate…this wine cannot be unplugged!

Karthäuserhof (Ruwer valley)
2000 Karthäuserhof Estate Riesling Medium-Dry
Cassis, pear, zesty orange and lime aromas along with hints of red berries and floral perfumes dominate the nose. A concentrated, focused core of mouth-puckering grapefruit, lime, and spicy pear is decorated with fine mineral details.  Quite elegant, long and balanced.

2000 Karthäuserhof Estate Riesling
Iris and cherry aromas underplay the juicy spread of peach, pineapple, cassis and lemon in the nose. Peaches, cherries, tangy grapefruits and limes all jiggle inside a silky core with an electric wrapping… hyper-balanced with long, fine mineral designs.

Zilliken (Saar valley)

A cool, strawberry and rose petal breeze blows out of the glass. This fruit salad of grapefruit, cherry, pear and peach is dressed with a splash of citrus, a drizzle of penetrating tropical fruit oils and dusted with spicy mineral spices …served in a chilled slate bowl.  A light, elegant, balanced meal anytime!

Impressions of red fruits, pear and flowers flash in the nose. The composition is tart and tangy with a juicy, exposure of passion fruit, cherry and nectarine.   Subtle mineral influences frame this vineyard photo with focused, well-lit fruit profiles and deft acidic contrasts in the background.

Vibrant peach, lemon oil, minerals and that classic “exhaust of the slate” remind the nose of other great Simon Rieslings. Hints of zippy citrus and pear fused with bright green herbal trim…concentrated yet restrained with a beautiful stony fabric throughout.

Floral aromas are sprinkled with strawberry, peach and jazzy grapefruit. Mouth-watering peaches, cherries and tropical fruit packed tight on the palate display a refreshing interplay of juicy ripeness and firm acidity.  Zippy and fresh, with a nod towards its spicy vineyard soil.

Alluring fragrances of peach, snappy red fruit, cinnamon bark and floral perfume dominate.  Focused, fresh and elegant with a basket of juicy peaches and a twist of grapefruit rind.  Superb, long minerally grip infiltrates the lattice of finely woven acids.

A nose-banquet of clove, apple, orange, mango, black cherry, dates, and apricot honey…all with a centerpiece bouquet of iris and lily! Absolutely mouthwatering!  A huge display of tangy raspberry, glistening peach oil, puckering lemon-lime, orange zest and apricot plasma.  All finished with a tense, tooth-jiggling minerality.

Pfeffingen (Pfalz region)
2000 Pfeffingen Riesling Sekt
Bright, jazzy lemon and strawberry notes pop like a samba for your nose. Broad, had-filling composition highlighted with smooth, flowing lines of lime and bitter orange supported with a textural back-beat of stony, spicy soil. It’s lively dance on the palate with a very dry sense of humor. Suddenly French Champagne seems, well, ordinary.

2000 Pfeffingen Estate Riesling Dry
Inhale the apricots, peaches and pears... how can a wine that smells so juicy and ripe finish so tangy and dry? Firm, ripe center of tangerines, pears, lemons and apricots...with long, extracted minerality.  Stony and very dry.

2000 Pfeffingen "Pfeffo" Kabinett Medium-Dry
Sniff the powder of dried oranges, spicy lemon zest, peach and apricot pits and your mouth will be watering for the citrus cocktail in the glass. Broad, tangy, smooth and balanced...with groves of orange, citrus and a lingering apricot pit.  It's an enological action figure...dry enough to combat raw oysters, supple enough to dance around most pasta creations, firm enough to bounce off grilled salmon or pork!

2000 Pfeffingen Ungsteiner Herrenberg Riesling Spätlese
Soft, fragrant perfume of roses and peaches, passion fruit and strawberry. Powerful yet delicate, compact and fine-tuned...There is an attractive patchwork of peach, ripe red fruits, apricot and orange all wound together with taut acidic fiber.

Soft floral, peach and apricot minerally, nice balance of acid and fruit-pit.  Orange, refreshing, dry, spicy, it is mouthwatering

Don't let the floral perfume or clean, clear aromas of peach, pear, cassis fool you... here is a white wine to chew on. Fat and rich but with muscles well-toned, pears and apricots carved from a stone. Juicy and succulent, pit of a peach, refreshing and dry, like a walk on the beach.

2000 Gunderloch "Jean Baptiste" Kabinett
Bright, mineral influenced peach, raspberry and floral aromas whet the appetite. Orange, peach, pear, and tropical fruit flavors- ripe but delicate-flaunt a spicy earthiness throughout.  Finely honed with impeccable balance. This wine continues to be one of our flagship work horses...there is always an ample ripe fruit dimension, bracing acidity, earthy disposition and firm stony grip to wage war with most menu entries.

2000 Gunderloch "Diva" Spätlese
Peach and cherry aromas with a squirt of mineral dust and that diesel "exhaust of the soil." Ripe, round, compact and firm... peach nectar and minerals abound. Balanced and broad with a juicy, lip-puckering finish.

A pineapple-peach cream pie with a peppery red soil crust smacks you in the face and laps up the dreamy, rich concentrated layers of peach nectar and lemon oil. …clean and pure with a delicate balance yet powerful and compact, all highlighted with a chewy component of tangy soil.

Mesmerizing exhibition of pear, lemon, pineapple and raspberry aromatics with soft floral highlights. Here is a dazzling circus for your mouth!  Focused fruit acrobatics swing and tumble   the ball of peach seems shot out of a cannon.  A pear jelly tight rope walk of astounding balance and death defying acids.  Long, mouth-watering expression of juicy pears layered with peach nectar, tangy lemons and an underlying stony foundation.  Focused fruit acrobatics and elegant within a firm profile, circus tumble high wire balance all shot out of a cannon.

2000 Emrich-Schönleber Estate Kabinett
Floral, lemony aromas with hints of pear, celery leaf and white pepper. Pure, compact, elegant and fine...ripe and sassy. Fresh pear, citrus and peach spanked with a swat of mint and minerals.

Meyer-Näkel (Ahr valley)
2000 Meyer-Näkel Dornfelder
Is it Chinon? Provence? Piedmont?  Inky and stinky! A dense tar-pit of bubbling aromas…black and blue fruits, pungent Indian spices, ham, dried herbs, black tea and coffee beans. Bold, jazzy black jam on the lips…spicy, sweet blueberry…snappy cranberry. Supple, rich and chewy…laced with tangy soil.   Try not to finish the bottle before the waiter brings your lamb chops.

Weinhaus Heger (Baden region)
2000 Weinhaus Heger Pinot Noir
A very burgandian style Pinot Noir, with lots of earthyness and tobacco, some mint and strong focus on the red cherry and raspberry components of Pinot Noir. Strong on the nose and with very little oak that lets the fruit flavors prevail, the wine is light yet flavorful on the palate. A great compliment to grilled poultry and grilled fish or just as is.
